If you didn’t know before, as a mom with a new little one at home, you know now that little things can make a big difference in your life!
Little things making a big difference seems to be a theme for my week… I discussed it on an upcoming interview for a podcast, talked about it with a mama in the Momxiety Club membership during our weekly group call, and discussed it with Melina Palmer of the Brainy Business podcast. That got me thinking that it would be a perfect topic for this week's episode.
Mom-guilt was discussed in episode 4, but I didn't dive into the difference between mom-guilt and mom-shame. More often we are calling our feelings of shame, mom-guilt, in order to generalize the difficulty of motherhood. This, along with picture perfect images of motherhood in the media and online, often causes moms, especially isolated new moms, to feel worse, like they are not good enough and never can be.
On the Momxiety Club Podcast today I chat with Freelance writer, Alexandra Frost about mom guilt and her recent article: Why Mom (or Dad) Guilt is a Thing - and What You Can Do to Stop Beating Yourself Up. Hear how Alex handles mom guilt from internal and external factors. Learn how Alex determines if she is experiencing "real mom guilt or fake mom guilt". Listen to the end to hear a message to moms from Alex as well as a message sent from Australia.
On the Momxiety Club Podcast today, Tori shares her story as a new mom struggling with emotions, lack of sleep, and breastfeeding. Feelings of isolation, not knowing how to do anything and thinking I was doing everything wrong.
Tori shares about her 1st sons feeding difficulties as a newborn. Hear Tori’s worries about attending a La Leche League meeting and fears that everyone would see her as failing.
On the Momxiety Club Podcast today I chat with school counselor and mom, Meredith Siget, about with anxiety during back to school season in the age of COVID-19. You'll learn ways to cope with our own anxiety and help relieve any anxiety in your children during this stressful time.
Hear what Meredith has to say about who you should listen to when making the decision, will I send my kids to school or keep them home?
